About Us
Tobias Poole is a public radio broadcast engineer turned coffee connoisseur.
And trust us, you don't spend 40+ years in the radio industry, going for hours and hours on a daily broadcast without getting to know a good cup of joe.
But his love of coffee started long before his first radio broadcast.
When he was five or six years old, you could find him enjoying secret sips of coffee from his mother’s cup.
Coffee has always had a special place in his heart.
And now that he's stepped back from a successful career in teaching students local and national public radio at WOUB Ohio University, WBST Ball State University, including over 30 years of broadcasting for WRTI at Temple University, he's on a mission to bring people together over his favorite drink: coffee.
And that's how Tobias Coffee was born.
It's a company built by a coffee lover, for coffee lovers.
And true to his giving heart, Tobias learned early from giving in church, too, donating to the March of Dimes through his Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Tobias Coffee donates a portion of each bag of coffee sold to support local nonprofits who provide food, education, and scholarship programs for those in need from kids to adults.
This is the Tobias Coffee way of paying it forward.
It's our company's goal to do our part to make the world a better place – one sip at a time – by providing high-quality gourmet, excellent tasting coffee that benefits not only its drinkers but the community.
When he’s not drinking or bagging coffee, you can find him in his hometown in Pennsylvania with his wife, two dogs, Loki and Skylar, and his cat Benny.
